Peter Cowley

Peter was an active angel investor for nearly 15 years, and personally invested in 76 startups and was named UK Business Angel of the Year 2014, and angel investor in the most successful Exit of the year 2021 by both UKBAA and EBAN. He has had 20 positive exits and 21 failures, including a 107X exit.

For two years, he was President of the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) - the trade body representing the early stage investor and startup community throughout Europe.

He was a board member of the Global Business Angel Network (GBAN) and has an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University.

Until 2019, he was chair of the board of the Cambridge Business Angels (which invested over £45M in 2019). He co-founded the VC Martlet Capital in 2011. He has led 30 investment deals has been a director on over 40 boards. He has written 3 books – two for entrepreneurs and angels plus an inspirational memoir
